1. Is regular car maintenance necessary?
Yes, it is absolutely necessary to maintain the health of your car, especially that of the engine. We recommend that you schedule your car’s maintenance and service if not more, then at least once a year. Alternatively, you must schedule it every 10,000-12,000 miles, if that comes earlier than a year.
Besides this regular servicing, you must also pay attention to anything that seems unusual, like a funny smell or whirring noises that emanate from any part of your car. If you do find any such noise or smell, please get your car checked ASAP.
2. Is there a time-frame for regular service of my car radiator?
3. Do I need to service my car’s air conditioner even if I go for the car’s annual maintenance?
We do recommend you to get its serviced every two years over and above the annual maintenance. It ensures that it is working properly in all seasons by ensuring better and longer component life and function.
Northside air conditioning service, as a rule, works on the 25 point system check, which needs to be adhered to strictly. We also perform complete evacuation; oiling and dying (if found to be required); recharging the system to adequate level; as well as the system performance test.
4. What are the indications of a damaged car suspension?
- The car pulls to either side while driving.
- You can see that one of the corners seems to be sitting low when the car is parked.
- Steering becomes difficult.
- If you feel every bump on the road (a clear sign that you need to check your vehicle’s front/rear shock absorber checked)
- You feel the car squatting toward the back while accelerating
- Even the lightest of braking makes your car nosedive.
- You feel too much body roll on the curves.
It’s time to get the suspension checked if any of this is happening.
5. Is log book service good for me?
If you are getting it done from a reliable service provider, it is the best thing you can do to save money. We service your vehicle according to your vehicle service log book as provided by the manufacturer. This is done to upkeep your vehicles’ warranty. That allows you to skip the expensive service at the manufacturer’s agency and choose an affordable but reliable service like us.
6. When do I know it’s time to replace my car’s brake pads?
You should generally take it as a given that the brake pads will start to wear out at some 20,000 to 30,000 miles. But that is not an absolute figure. There are external factors that influence this time frame.
What you need to keep in mind is that if you face any usual screeching/grinding sound (especially if it is high-pitched) or obvious difficulty in braking, it’s time to see a car brake specialist in Northgate.
Just wanted to thank you Justin at Northside Radiators and Air Conditioning... Left my car to have new radiator, and a service to my Air Conditioner. All done without any fuss on time as promised. I have just been down the coast and back car is running like a charm and I enjoyed the comfort of the Air Con working as it should once again... Thanks to Justin for getting the old girl back on the road after an early morning collision with a roo. Justin gave a range of price options and excellent advice. Cheers!
